L’evento si svolgerà al fablab e sarà in Italiano e Inglese. Sarà gratuito per tutti, ma è richiesta una prenotazione per talk e workshop.

Open Day @ SciFabLab: 15:00 – 17:00

15:00 Open Day (in Italian and English): a guided visit of the fablab, with demo of lasercutter and 3D printers, question and answers on fablabs and digital fabrication (registration not needed, for all ages)
15:00 Open Day (in Italiano e Inglese): una visita guidata al fablab, con dimostrazioni di utilizzo della macchina a taglio laser e delle stampanti 3D, domande e risposte su fablab e tecnologie di fabbricazione digitale (non serve registrazione, per tutte le età)

Arduino Talks & Workshops: 17:00-19:00

17:00 TALK (45 minutes): “Arduino for Everybody” an introduction to the Arduino platform and its alternatives, with presentation of new and old boards, examples of projects using Arduino boards, Arduino IDE and programming options (by Marco Baruzzo and Carlo Fonda).
17:00 TALK (45 minuti): “Arduino per tutti” Una introduzione al mondo di Arduino (e alle sue alternative), con una presentazione delle varie schede vecchie e nuove, esempi di progetti basati su schede Arduino, utilizzo della IDE e le diverse alternative per la programmazione (a cura di Marco Baruzzo e Carlo Fonda).

17:45 – 19:00 WORKSHOP (75 minutes): a Practical Introduction to Arduino for absolute beginners, hands-on exercises with Arduino boards, sensors and LEDs (by Gaya Fior).

17:45 – 19:00 LABORATORIO (75 minuti) di Introduzione pratica ad Arduino per totali principianti, a base di esercizi sperimentali con schede Arduino, sensori e LED (a cura di Gaya Fior).

Opening and closing days: September-December 2024

The SciFablab has reopened after the Maker Faire Trieste, with our usual schedule: all Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 19:00 and all Saturdays from 14:00 to 19:00. Booking is required for all users, unscheduled visits are accepted until 17:00 (the fablab may be closed after 17:00 is there aren’t booked users).

In addition, we will have a few extraordinary closings as follows:

  • Saturday 28 September (to participate to the Maker Faire Zagreb)
  • Thursday 24 and Saturday 26 October (to participate to Maker Faire Rome)
  • we will be also closed from 23 December to 11 January, for the Xmas Holidays

Lo SciFablab ha riaperto dopo la Maker Faire Trieste con il solito calendario di apertura: tutti i martedì e giovedì dalle 16:00 alle 19:00 e tutti i sabati dalle 14:00 alle 19:00. E’ obbligatoria la prenotazione per tutti gli utenti registrati, le visite non prenotate possono avvenire solo fino alle 17:00 (il fablab può essere chiuso dopo le 17:00 in assenza di prenotazioni).

Inoltre sono programmate le seguenti chiusure straordinarie:

  • Sabato 28 settembre (per partecipazione alla Maker Faire Zagreb)
  • Giovedì 24 e sabato 26 ottobre (per partecipazione alla Maker Faire Rome)
  • saremo infine anche chiusi dal 23 dicembre all’11 gennaio, per le festività natalizie.

SciFabLab CHIUSO per MAKERFAIRE / CLOSED for MF

Lo Scientific Fablab dell’ICTP sarà parzialmente aperto (senza uso di macchine e senza assistenza dello staff) nel giorno di Giovedì 29 Agosto e poi rimarrà CHIUSO a partire da Venerdì 30 Agosto fino a una data da definire in Settembre. Ma ci troverete alla Maker Faire Trieste (organizzata dall’ICTP in collaborazione con il Comune di Trieste) in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia nelle due giornate di Sabato 31 Agosto (dalle 14 alle 20) e Domenica 1 Settembre (dalle 10 alle 18). Siete tutti invitati!!

The ICTP Scientific Fablab will be only partially open (without machines and assistance by the staff) on Thursday 29 August and then will be CLOSED starting from Friday 30 August until a date to be defined in September. But you can visita us at the Maker Faire Trieste (organized by ICTP with the collaboration of the Municipality of Triest) in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia on the two dates of Saturday 31 August (2pm – 8pm) and Sunday 1st September (10am – 6pm). You are all welcome!

10 anni di SciFabLab – 10 Years of SciFabLab

The ICTP Scientific FabLab was officially inaugurated by ICTP director prof. Fernando Quevedo on the 12th of August, 2014.

Ten years ago seems like a long time has past, and many things happened in fact! Our fablab has grown in floor size, in number and quality of available machines and -most important- in number and skills of all the people who make it alive: our staff, our users and our friends, all constantly working together to make it always better place!

Dieci anni sembrano un sacco di tempo, e lo sono in realtà, se contiamo tutto ciò che è successo in questi 3652 giorni! Il nostro fablab è certamente cresciuto molto, sia in metratura che nel numero e qualità dei macchinari a nostra disposizione, ma soprattutto nel numero delle persone che lo rendono vivo: il personale che ci lavora, gli utenti che lo frequentano e gli amici che lo visitano, tutti in costante movimento per renderlo un posto migliore!

Ferragosto – Mid August festivities

Siamo spiacenti di informare visitatori ed utenti che lo SciFabLab resterà eccezionalmente chiuso martedì 13 agosto 2024 per la partecipazione dello staff alla trasmissione Trieste in diretta su Telequattro. Il FabLab sarà invece aperto il giorno di Ferragosto, giovedì 15 agosto 2024, con orario esteso dalle 14:00 alle 19:00.

We are sorry to inform users and visitors that the FabLab will not be open to the public on Tuesday, 13 August 2024. Instead, the FabLab will be open on Thursday 15 August, with extended opening hours 14:00 – 19:00.

Chiusi “per clanfe” SABATO 27 luglio / Saturday 27 July CLOSED

Per partecipazione alla 17a Olimpiade delle Clanfe, in qualità di assistenza tecnica alla giuria, il fablab resterà chiuso nella giornata di Sabato 27 Luglio 2024, ci spiace per il disagio ma invitiamo tutti a venire a fare un rinfrescante tuffo in mare!

We will be assisting the jury of the 17th “Clanfe” Olympics and therefore the fablab will remain CLOSED on Saturday 27th of June, 2024. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we suggest to use the opportunity to go diving into the fresh sea water with us :D

We are sorry to inform that the fablab will be CLOSED to the public one more time, on Tuesday, May 14th. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenient. We confirm that we will be regularly OPEN on Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th, with the usual timetable and rules.
