Here we are, surrounded by robot bunnies and projects for Maker Faire! On Saturday 4 April, we’re taking the day off, so SciFabLab will be closed to the public.

The event will be in English and Italian, OPEN and FREE for all (a registration is needed for talks and workshops). Venue: ICTP SciFabLab
L’evento si svolgerà al fablab e sarà in Italiano e Inglese. Sarà gratuito per tutti, ma è richiesta una prenotazione per talk e workshop.
15:00 Open Day (in Italian and English): a guided visit of the fablab, with demo of lasercutter and 3D printers, question and answers on fablabs and digital fabrication (registration not needed, for all ages)

16:00 TALK (solo in ITALIANO, 45 minuti): “Arduino per tutti” Una introduzione al mondo di Arduino (e alle sue alternative), con una presentazione delle varie schede vecchie e nuove, esempi di progetti basati su schede Arduino, utilizzo della IDE e le diverse alternative per la programmazione. (seminario a cura di Marco Baruzzo). Il testo delle slides è in Inglese (Note: the slides are in English).
17:00 – 18:30 WORKSHOP (in Italian & English, 90 minutes): a Practical Introduction to Arduino for absolute beginners, hands-on exercises with Arduino boards, sensors and LEDs. (Workshop by Gaia Fior)

The access to the SciFabLab is possible upon appointment (at least 24 hours before) for registered users and within the following timetable:
L’accesso allo SciFabLab sarà possibile su prenotazione (almeno 24 ore prima) per gli utenti registrati, all’interno del seguente orario:
Tuesday and Thursday: 3:30pm–6:30pm
Martedì e Giovedì: 15:30–18:30
Saturday: 2pm–7pm
Sabato: 14:00–19:00
Visitors without a registered project or without a booking can access the fablab in the first 1.5 hour of opening time (2.5 hours on Saturdays).
Visitatori senza un progetto registrato o senza prenotazione possono accedere al fablab durante la prima ora e mezza di apertura (prime 2,5 ore durante i sabati).
Please note: if no users are present/booked in the first hour of opening (2.5 hours on Saturdays), the fablab will then be closed (i.e. in absence of users it will close at 4:30pm on any days).
Attenzione: se nessun utente è presente o ha prenotato una visita durante la prima ora di apertura al pubblico (2,5 ore per la giornata del sabato), il fablab chiuderà subito dopo (cioè, in assenza di utenti il fablab chiuderà alle ore 16:30 in ogni caso).
The SciFabLab will be closed to the public from Saturday 20 December 2025 to Friday 9 January 2026, included. We will re-open to the public with our regular schedule, starting from Saturday 10 January, 2026.

The SciFabLab will be CLOSED from Monday 24 to Thursday 27 November 2025 included, to allow the hosting of an official training activity organized by ICTP and KFAS. We will open again to the public from Saturday 29.
Lo SciFabLab rimarrà chiuso al pubblico da lunedì 24 fino a giovedì 27 Novembre, per ospitare un’attività di formazione organizzata da ICTP e KFAS. Riapriremo regolarmente da sabato 29 novembre.
Informiamo che lo SciFabLab rimarrà chiuso a partire da Martedì 14 Ottobre (incluso) per permettere la nostra partecipazione alla Maker Faire Roma.
L’apertura al pubblico sarà di nuovo regolare a partire da Sabato 25 Ottobre (14:00 – 19:00).

Lo SciFablab resterà eccezionalmente chiuso nelle due giornate di Giovedì 14 e Sabato 16 Agosto. Riaprirà al pubblico da Martedì 19 Agosto con il consueto orario.
The SciFabLab will remain closed on Thursday 14th and Saturday 16th August. It will open to the public again from Tuesday 19, with the usual schedule.
