We’re OPEN!

ENGLISH VERSION:

Updated procedures for public access and changes to the Terms of Use of the ICTP SciFabLab ICTP valid from June 1st, 2021.

When is SciFabLab open to the public?

After completion of a safety assessment, it is decided that the SciFabLab will be open to the public, starting from Tuesday 1st June 2021, as follows:

The maximum number of users allowed to access simultaneously the SciFabLab is 5, with compulsory prior booking by email and only during the following timetable:

on Tuesdays from 17:00 to 20:00 (3 hours)

on Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00 (3 hours)

on Saturdays from 14:00 to 20:00 (6 hours)

Who can use the SciFabLab?

Access to SciFabLab premises is agreed upon with each user exclusively via e-mail request and subsequent confirmation, and is meant only for SciFabLab registered users with an approved project.

Only visitors who have been in Italy during the previous 2 weeks (at least) can be admitted (i.e. not travelling from/to other countries in these 2 weeks).

List of authorized users will be provided to ICTP Guards so that they are informed of who can enter the SciFabLab. Recorded access data (including personal telephone numbers), as it is mandated by the current Italian law and for the sole need of tracking, will be kept for 14 days after accessing the SciFabLab.

Request to access the SciFabLab should include preferred day/time slot (s) – also more than one, and on different days – and the kind of instrument needed, which will be prepared in advance and made available on the desk (assigned workstation) for the entire duration of the approved slot.

It is always possible to submit requests for new projects, or request to renew existing projects. Forms are available here: Call / Bando.

All projects previously active, authorized before 1June 2021, are to be considered expired and therefore renewal must be explicitely requested.

Criterias for allocation of slots:

After preliminary booking request, access to the SciFabLab will only be granted to carry out authorized projects, and slots will be assigned on a first come-first served basis. Priority will be given to scientific and didactic projects, projects for Trieste Makerfaire, and to those applicants who could use the least the SciFabLab facilities in the previous days. Allocation of slots is in charge of the SciFabLab coordinator and it cannot be questioned.

ALL RULES FOR THE USE OF THE SCIFABLAB ARE AVAILABLE IN THE WEPAGE “RULES/REGOLE”.
